Dental technology can make a significant difference in your oral health. At Posh Dental, we are equipped with the latest in digital tools to provide our patients with the best comprehensive care. It is important to Dr. Gabriel to not only preserve and restore teeth, but to engage with our patients, educating them on their oral health and how to manage their mouth. Our tools help us provide a way to show the patient what we see; then together, we can create a plan of action. We believe that when our patients understand dentistry, then we can help our patients have healthier teeth, longer.
Some of our tools include:
Digital x-rays are a huge upgrade from the traditional x-rays of your youth. The images we can capture are larger, clearer, and safer. Using digital technology, we can capture images using significantly less radiation, in a much larger format and a high resolution. Dr. Gabriel can then display these images on a computer screen next to your chair. Unlike the tiny x-ray slides of the past, these images will be large and easily viewable. Following your appointment, your digital images are not saved in a physical file in a cabinet but are digitally saved on our system. This means that your images will never be lost, and can be easily shared with other dental professionals when needed.
A very common dental disorder in our adult patients is some level of gum disease. Gum disease occurs when plaque and food debris have been left in place between your teeth, along with the gum line, and in the nooks and crannies of your molars. Plaque is filled with decay-causing bacteria that will infect your gums. When plaque is left in place, it can go below the gum line making it harder to remove, and allowing it to rage with infection. During your dental cleaning, we can remove plaque, food debris, and even hardened tartar or calculus with an ultrasonic scaler. This tool has become an invaluable part of most adult dental cleanings.
The ultrasonic scaler uses a vibrating tip while also blasting oxygenated bubbles at the base of the teeth, think of a pressure washer that has been scaled down in size and specifically designed to be safe for your teeth. Removing infection causing bacteria will help you have a healthier smile and protect your teeth from the all too common problem of gum disease.
Posh Dental values our patients understanding the work that is being done. An intraoral camera helps us do just that. Before this technology, we realize that patients could rarely see or understand the condition of their teeth the same way a dentist could. An intraoral camera helps us show you exactly what is happening in your mouth. With a real time display on a screen next to you, we can walk you through your mouth, showing healthy areas and unhealthy areas. This will allow us to engage in a constructive discussion about your oral health.
