Clear Aligner Treatment

Clear aligners are custom-made trays of strong, medical-grade plastic that are virtually invisible when worn. They look similar to whitening trays, but each one is manufactured to fit your teeth precisely and to move them a small, planned amount. Some dentists have described them as contact lenses for teeth.

Each tray in the series is worn for roughly two weeks, then swapped for the next one, until your teeth reach the position mapped out at the start. The whole sequence is planned digitally before the first tray is ever made, so you can see the intended result before treatment begins.

The labs we use: CandidPro and XLUR

Posh Dental Spa provides clear aligner treatment through two labs, CandidPro and XLUR. The treatment is the same in either case — a digital scan, a plan reviewed and approved by Dr. Groberg, and a series of custom trays. The lab simply manufactures the trays.

If you have been searching for Invisalign®, this is the same category of treatment. Invisalign® is a different brand of clear aligner, made by Align Technology, and it is not one we currently offer — but clear aligner treatment at Posh addresses the same concerns: crowding, spacing, and teeth that have shifted over time.

Clear, removable, and comfortable

Clear aligners straighten teeth without announcing it to everyone you meet. Because the trays come out, you can eat and drink whatever you like during treatment, and brush and floss normally. There are no metal brackets or wires to irritate your cheeks, and fewer adjustment appointments than braces typically require.

Is clear aligner treatment right for you?

Aligners handle many cases well, and some bites are better served by braces or by a referral to an orthodontic specialist. Dr. Groberg has spent considerable time training and mentoring with orthodontists, and will tell you plainly which category your case falls into before you commit to anything.
